118 Deaf, majority are young people, attended the Deaf Youth Fellowship held in BID on Aug. 28, 2010 with Ptr. Victorino Jervoso II, the speaker, sharing the message “Reuse, Reduce and Recycle” from Gal. 5:13-15. He explained that we are the “Salt of the Earth” and we should use our talents and skills to help others. He said, “Share your knowledge to those who are spiritually immature.” He also read from Mt. 28:19-20 stressing the truth that we need to “Go and Witness” or spread the gospel of Christ to everyone. Later, he read Hebrews 12:1 emphasizing that we need to teach everyone repeatedly and not lose hope teaching his Word.
In the afternoon, there was a workshop and Bible games. The deaf were grouped together into 10 -12 with a leader or pastor. Everyone was encouraged to reflect and interact with the message they received on the 3 R’s. A forum was held for some questions and answers. After, there were Bible and parlor games, like Verse Relay, Newspaper game and Box Relay. Everyone enjoyed the games.
After, Department Director, Rev. E. Castillo was called to share a brief message. Later, she was surprised by the deaf’s applause and a birthday song to honor her on her birthday. A cake was brought to her to blow and Ptr. Jim de Guzman led a birthday prayer for her.
It was a blessed day for everyone who came to the gathering.

It’s great to see what BID has been up to lately… WOW you all have been so busy.
I wish I could have seen the “I will go” signed song. Do you have it on video? Can you please upload it?
Keep up the good work and keep posting the good news. 😉 I think of you all often and pray that God will continue to provide for your needs.
